AboutIndependent studio2017 — today

Hi
I'm Bartłomiej.
I build things
that work.

cod·etic is a small, independent software studio based in Toruń, Poland. I work with founders, product teams and brands who care about craft — from the first conversation to a working product in production.

One engineer, infinite attention

I started in engineering — Java first, then JavaScript. At some point I realised code is only half the job. The other half is listening to the people who use it and deciding what's actually worth building.

After years inside agencies and in-house teams, I founded cod·etic — to work closer, longer and smarter. No management layers, no sprint-shaped excuses, no product theatre. Just me, your team, and a piece of well-written code.

Bartłomiej.

/ 03Values

Four principles thatshape every project we ship.

01.

Craftbefore speed

"Fast" is cheap; "well" lasts for years. I write code we can read a year later without embarrassment — and architecture you can extend, not just patch.

That doesn't mean "slow". It means deliberate: every technical decision has a reason and a consequence I understand before I start typing.

02.

I'll be honest, even when it stings

If the idea is weak — I'll say so. If the budget won't get you there — I'll say so. If there's an off-the-shelf tool instead of building from scratch — I'll point you to it, even if that means a shorter engagement.

Clients pick cod·etic precisely because I don't sell hours — I sell outcomes.

03.

Close collaboration,not outsourcing

I join your Slack, your stand-ups, your roadmap. Instead of "deliver and disappear", I learn your business and make decisions like someone who's there for the long run.

When the project ends, you keep the code, the docs and a team that understands them. No black box.

04.

Fewer projects,more depth

I take on 3–4 partners per quarter. No more. That way each of you gets my full attention — not 15% of a scattered team juggling twenty briefs.

If there's no slot this quarter, I'll say so and recommend someone I trust instead.

A short timeline — from the first line of code to the studio today.

  • 2010

    First commit

I start with PHP and Python — a small Toruń-based company, intranet, internal tools. Here I learn that a product is always more about people than technology.

    Scale and frontend

I move deeper into JavaScript and React — first SPAs, design systems, real conversations with clients. I work with teams and start freelancing on the side.

    cod·etic — first client

I launch a one-person studio. The first client is a founder friend who needs an MVP in 6 weeks. We ship in 5. Studio is officially in business.

    Scale and partnerships

The first long-term partner stays for a third year in a row. I drop the "hours-based" offer and move to a partnership model — a handful of projects a year, each one with full attention.

    Codetic Lab

I open an internal lab — time for our own tools, AI-in-the-workflow experiments, open-source libraries. Some land in client projects, the rest go public.
